December 31, 2001 Maranee participated in a photo shoot on Lake Washington along with fellow CYA member Stephen Wilen. Photos were taken of both Maranee as well as Mr. Wilen's 1924 57-foot Kensington on the calm and crisp winter day. Several of the photographic results are presented here in various places of this web site, just in time for its upcoming redesign.

December 25, 2001  In the same tradition as Ann Waite's drawing of Doryann II,  this oil painting of Maranee was completed as a Christmas gift to owners Jim and Margie Paynton from their son, Matthew. Matthew is a recent graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts.

December 1, 2001  Maranee on Television! A local Seattle television show called Captain's Log broadcast a segment on Maranee with interviews and footage obtained at the LaConner Classic Yacht show this past summer. Several other vessels of the Classic Yacht Association have been featured on this show as well. More information about Captain's Log can be found at the show's web site.
