December 25, 2003  Maranee receives her first Christmas present: a hand-crafted mahogany table for use in the cockpit. Designed and built to resemble an original Chris-Craft piece by Matthew Paynton, son of owners Jim and Margie, the table features original-style motifs and craftsmanship to be used for many cruising years to come.

October 26, 2003  Maranee takes advantage of the clear and calm Autumn weather and spends an afternoon on Lake Washington. With a banner summer behind us, the weather continues to surprise with sunshine and clear skies. Let's hope the winter is just as friendly!

October 18, 2003  A new home for Maranee online, maranee.com is launched. Visitors to maranee.com are asked to update their links and bookmarks. The new easy-to-remember domain and the lack of constant pop-up advertisements are a welcome change. This site will continue to be updated regularly here in What's New.

October 12, 2003  During a family trip to Syracuse, New York, we have the opportunity to visit and view some of Maranee's old cruising territory when she was under the care of Virgil Waite and his family in the late 1940s. With photographs in hand supplied by the Waite family, we are able to recreate several shots of places Maranee traveled 57 years earlier. July 29- August 12, 2003 Maranee enjoys glassy waters and warm sun for the annual Paynton summer cruise. Destinations including Bellingham, Washington and Port Browning, British Columbia and some points in between and one freak storm made for a vacation not to be forgotten.

July 19, 2003 A VIP on Maranee: Chris Smith, grandson of Chris-Craft's founding father, Christopher Columbus Smith, comes aboard Maranee at the annual Chris-Craft Rendezvous in Port Orchard Washington. A wealth of knowledge and a wonderful collection of stories made for a memorable visit.

June 18, 2003  Over 2,500 visitors strolled the docks of Bell Harbor Marina to view Maranee and 38 other Classic Yacht Association member yachts this past weekend. We couldn't have asked for better weather and all the boats looked wonderful. Click to view a series of images from this year's seventh annual Bell Street Pier Classic Rendezvous.

Maranee will again be one of nearly forty pre-war wooden pleasure craft representing the Pacific Northwest Fleet of the Classic Yacht Association at Seattle's Pier 66 for the seventh annual Bell Street Pier Classic Rendezvous. Saturday, June 14 will also feature the cars of Mustangs Northwest on the pier's plaza. More information on this year's festivities will be available at the PNW CYA home page.

April 13-16 2003   At long last, an update for the What's New section... Maranee came out of winter hibernation for several days of Puget Sound cruising. Ports of call included Blake Island State Park and Poulsbo, Washington. Looking forward to a new season of boating!
