Maranee boasts her original 130 horsepower Hercules Chris-Craft Marine engines. They were rebuilt in 1998 and were made ready for another 60 years of use. Maranee cruises at 9 knots, while the engines burn less than four gallons per hour combined.

One of our prized possessions is this pencil drawing of the boat, done by twelve year old Ann Waite, daughter of the second owner, in the summer of 1946. The original is kept at home, but a high resolution color copy hangs in the forward stateroom, and is an object of great interest to visitors.

This refinished 1950 Craftsman Union machinist's toolbox is still in use, and sits proudly under the helm. It was a gift from Jim's mother to his father on their 5th wedding anniversary.
